How to pay

Pay from an app you already have, then confirm it. This page is for customers; link it from your order messages or store FAQ.

1. Pay

Your payment link opens a checkout at pay.peer.xyz. Keep the original message or order confirmation so you can find your way back.

  1. Select. Pick your payment app and press "Start Payment".
  2. Pay. Send the exact amount to the payment partner shown. Peer matched your order with them: they receive your payment and provide the funds that complete your order with the store.
  3. Come back. Press "I have completed payment".
Read the IMPORTANT screen

Fund from your balance or a debit or credit card, never a bank transfer. Send friends and family, never goods and services: purchase protection costs you 10 percent. Send the currency your payment partner receives, or lose another 3 percent to conversion.

Apps you can pay with

Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Zelle, Chime, Revolut, Wise, Monzo. N26 too, and some stores take a crypto wallet. The store picks which appear, and anything with no liquidity for your amount shows as unavailable. Not every Zelle bank is supported.

2. Confirm your payment

Most checkouts ask for one thing: the transaction ID. You install nothing.

  1. Find the ID. It is on your payment confirmation. The "Cannot find transaction ID?" link shows you where.
  2. Hand it over. Type it, or drop in a screenshot and the checkout reads it off. PNG, JPEG or WebP under 5MB.
  3. Verify. A green check means done. Nobody reviews it by hand.

PayPal is the exception: enter the name on your PayPal account instead. If the checkout asks you to confirm in the Peer app or the extension instead of for an ID, see the Peer app and extension.

3. What goes wrong

  1. Goods and services on Venmo or PayPal. It cannot verify. Use friends and family instead.
  2. Rounding the amount. $147.50 means exactly $147.50.
  3. Changing the payment method after paying. Confirming the change cancels the active payment. If you already sent money, keep the current payment open and use the chat.
  4. Sending twice. If something looked wrong, stop and open the chat bubble on the checkout.

If it will not go through

Paid, still pendingGive it a few minutes, then open the chat with a screenshot of your confirmation.
Paid, order cancelledOpen the chat with your payment confirmation. Do not pay again or start another attempt.

4. The Peer app and extension

Some stores use the other route: you confirm the payment yourself in the Peer app or the PeerAuth browser extension. The checkout says which one you are on before you pay.

On your phone: install the Peer app for iPhone or Android. Pay as normal, then press "Verify to complete order".

On your computer: scan the QR code on the checkout to finish in the Peer app, or install the PeerAuth Chrome extension and pin it from the puzzle icon. Then open your payment app in a Chrome tab and log in on the desktop site.

You log in with your provider directly and Peer never sees your password. A cryptographic proof verifies the payment privately, without sharing those credentials. You do have to be able to log in to the account the money came from.
